UAE Places
UAE Places: Privacy Policy
Effective date: 3 October 2026
UAE Places is a travel guide for the United Arab Emirates. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting. The app never sends us your location or anything you create in it.
Location
The app uses your phone's location, only after you allow it, to:
- show distances and the places near you,
- let you collect a place's stamp when you are there,
- record a journey while you choose to record one (a notification is shown the whole time),
- if you turn on Arrival alerts in Settings, notify you when you arrive at a place. This uses Google Play services geofencing and needs location access "all the time". You can turn it off at any time in Settings.
Your location is processed on your phone. Stamps, journeys, saved places and plans are stored only on your phone. The app never sends your position to us.
Services the app connects to
To show content, the app talks to these services directly. They receive your IP address and the request itself, and their own privacy policies apply:

"Look around" and "Directions" open the Google Maps app (or website), where Google's own policy applies.

Sharing
When you tap Share (a place, a plan or your passport card), the app hands the text or image to the app you choose. Nothing is shared without that action.
Your choices and deleting data
- Turn location off at any time in the system settings; the app keeps working without it.
- Delete journeys, plans and saved places in the app.
- Uninstalling the app (or "Clear storage") deletes everything it stored.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
